The ILB Team have taken note of exceptional members and want to highlight their work ethic and sportsmanship towards others. Each member spotlight will showcase a member who exemplifies everything we look to promote as a team at Iron Legacy. Someone who embodies what it means be committed to an environment of strength and fortitude: lighting the way for future athletes.
Alyssa has been lifting for 8 years and has been a competitive strongwoman for 2 years. In October of 2023, she qualified to compete with our ILB team at USS Nationals in June, 2024!
She is one of the most dedicated athletes we have at ILB. Whatever life throws her way, she finds a way to get in the gym and reach her goals. It's inspiring to watch her improve in her mental fortitude and physical strength!
Not only is she dedicated to her sport, but she's one hell of an encourager.
When we asked Alyssa what her main goals were as a lifter, she responded:
"In the words of the great Tina Fey- 'I'm a pusher, I push people.' Hopefully in the best way possible! My ultimate goal is to support those around me (including myself) to be their best self, and show those who do not present as the 'picture perfect' image of fitness that you can still compete with the best of them despite the societal standards we fight daily. My personal goal is to place top 3 at strongman national's this year or next."
"The community , the owners, and the eqiupment! ILB has found a way to generate the most supportive community a strength athlete could ask for, and I've learned that is SO important in any form of training. I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere they continue to build everyday!"
