Confidence isn't something you wake up with and strength isn't something that can be bought. So many women are stuck feeling uncomfortable in their own body. Not only does your body not "look the way you want," but you're feeling fatigued, unmotivated, and trapped.

If you've spent years putting yourself last, starting your fitness journey over again and again, you are not alone.

I'm Miranda Kopp, and I help women get stronger, feel healthier, and become confident in the gym and in everyday life!

From my perspective as a coach and athlete, lifting shouldn't be about punishment, extremes, or chasing perfection. Instead, it should be a journey to discover and become the best version of yourself. The good news? That version you've been searching for already exists inside of you. Sometimes, all you need is a bit of guidance to begin.

Fitness is about creating sustainable, healthy habits that last over time, allowing you to cultivate a lifestyle that promotes both physical and mental resilience. When we work out, we are lifting weights while also lifting our spirits, our confidence, and our self-esteem. It may sound cheesy and cliché, but it's true! Each rep, each set, and each workout serves as an opportunity to connect with our bodies. We start to understand our limits and learn how to push past them. This practice empowers us with consistent reminders that we are capable of more than we realize.

Building strength for longevity enhances our quality of life by improving bone density, joint stability, and metabolic health, essential for an active lifestyle as we age. Incorporating lifting into our routines is an investment in our future well-being, allowing us to enjoy activities for years to come. Lifting becomes a celebration of our bodies' achievements, encouraging realistic goals focused on progress. This mindset transforms fitness into a source of joy and fulfillment.

How can you incorporate strength training into your hectic schedule? How do you begin at the gym when the first step feels overwhelming?

Step One: Don't be afraid to pour into yourself.

Repeat after me: "To change my life, I must choose to change."

Simple, right? Determine why you want to make a change and write it down. Are you a mother aiming to set a positive example for your children? Your reason could be, "If I don't shift my mindset now, my children will face the same challenges."

Step Two: Find someone to be in your corner.

Having support, whether from a friend, spouse, or coach, can significantly influence your success. Especially in the early stages, having someone backing you can help you in overcoming fears and navigating change.

Step Three: Follow a plan

Gaining muscle and increasing strength don't happen on accident. Progressive overload and consistency are crucial to achieving your fitness goals. Don't hesitate to seek help when figuring out how to design a workout program. I always advise hiring a coach for at least three months to familiarize yourself with the gym environment, master proper form, and understand the principles of progressive overload!
